This model from the 1970's and 1980's is the Army version of the 1962 Autavia model, the first Heuer wristwatch chronograph. It was based on a dashboard chronograph of the same name that was developed in 1933 for automotive and aviation sports. In 1969, the Autavia model was, as the first chronograph in the world, equipped with an automatic winding Cal. 12. A practically placed winding crown on the left side of the case enables an ease of operation of the chronograph buttons. A turning lunette of this model is used for an accurate reading of time.
