An “SAS” floor lamp, Model No. 28710, designed by Arne Jacobsen,
1957, for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, manufactured by Louis Poulsen, Denmark, brownish green coated steel, the elliptic lamp shade covered with original textile fabric, factory label: louis poulsen & co. a/s/TYPE 28710/made in denmark, height 160 cm. (DRAX)
Only few specimens of this lamp were used at the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, which Jacobsen built between 1956 and 1960. The lamp is rarely found with its original shade.
