"The inspiration for this table came from observing the gigantic iron chains which are used for tying up the enormous container ships or transatlantic cruisers. Spending hours at the port of Ancona, we were intrigued by finding a way to build a table structure in the shape of a chain, every bangle connected to the other. Closing the chain completely, yet achieving a stable table structure while at the same time not losing the aesthetic beauty of the finished artwork was the challenge this table had up for us." (Barberini & Gunnell)
