An anthropomorphic “Floris” chair, designed by Günter Beltzig *, - Design

1967, manufactured by Gebrüder Beltzig, Germany, fibreglass reinforced and coated polyester, hand-signed on the underside of the seat: 1. SERIE 1967/Günter Beltzig, height 107.5 cm, width 35.5 cm, depth 59 cm, height of seat 41.5 cm. (DRAX)

From the first series, which comprised between 35 and 50 specimens in various colours (red, green, orange, yellow) and was produced in Beltzig’s own workshop. Beltzig had developed the form from the shape of his own body.

Provenance: private ownership, Cologne, Germany.
