Thailand: A large, round, bulbous standing vase, probably used as storage vessel.
A rustic, tall, round and bulbous Thai vase. With wide, round spout, neck and offset, round base. Made of reddish terracotta, baked and glazed. With all-round decorative bulges and dot-line motifs. Originally entirely glazed blue-black (the ‘shoulder’ of the vase is grey as a result of age-related weathering). Formerly it was probably in country houses as a container for water, oil or similar products. Only minor age-related damage: two minor cracks on the base, small pieces broken off and a flaw in the glaze. H: c. 17 cm, DM: c. 32 cm (belly), 23 cm (upper spout rim). First half of the 20th century or earlier. (ME)
