We are grateful to Gerlinde de Beer, for confirming the attribution of the present painting.
The Dutch marine painter Rietschoof was a student of Ludolf Backhuysen in Amsterdam. His works betray Backhuysen’s influence, although they sometimes also resemble those of Abraham Storck.
