1968 Porsche 911 T 2.0 SWB
Italian delivery, short wheelbase, matching numbers!
In September 1967, Porsche rearranged its 911 selection, now also including the 911 T (T for touring), with a performance reduced to 110 HP. With slightly simpler features, this 6-cylinder sports car was made available at the competitive price of 19,000 DM. After September 1968, it came with longer wheelbase and more weight.
The present 911 T with short wheelbase was delivered to the Autogerma dealership in Bologna in June 1968. It had been ordered in special black, with alloy wheels, 5-gear-transmission and Koni shock absorbers. Its birth certificate confirms that the car’s numbers all match the original set. The accompanying Italian papers dating to 1981, confirm that until the mid-nineties this Porsche was registered to the managing director of McCann Erickson in Milan. Following another owner in Varese, the Porsche went further south where the father of the consigner acquired it in 2004 and used it right away to drive home at the end of his vacation. As part of an extensive family collection the car was given the corresponding care. Shortly before being consigned to auction it was serviced and passed the MOT inspection so that nothing should keep its new owner from enjoying this classic 911!
