long white head scarf with gold braid, necklace of gilt beads with black bow, white ruched blouse with light blue bands, yellow corsage with many folds and gold braid to the rear, black skirt with colourfully-painted indianische floral stems, gilt and light blue bands and gold braid, vermilion red shoes with gilt laces, porcelain, gilt-accented rocailles base covered with colourful flowers, height 21 cm, Meissen, underglaze blue sword mark, late 19th cent., model no. 2733, former no. 71, painter no. 1, model by Friedrich Elias Meyer circa 1750-1752 (Ru)

Lit.: I. Menzhausen, J. Karpinski, In Porzellan verzaubert, Smlg. Pauls-Eisenbeiss Basel, p. 120, 121, ill. There is volume of pen-and-ink drawings in the Kupferstichkabinett Dresden, the cover sheet of which carries the following title, ‘Attilio Regolo Vestiario dela Opera representata nel Carnevale MDCCL’. The drawings relate to the opera by Hasse, Attilio Regulo, which was performed on 12 January 1750 in Dresden. The individual leaves depict the performing characters. The first leaf is inscribed ‘Attilia Faustina’, the second, ‘Regolo Annibali’. The porcelain figure matches this drawing in terms of its posture and clothing, which allows one to suppose that this is a depiction of Hasse’s Faustina.
