Böttger porcelain, seated with left leg folded under him, his right hand resting on his bent knee, his right foot bare, his left hand under his left knee, tufts of black hair to back of head and behind his ears, cut in triangular shape, his face with brown eyes and eyebrows, open mouth with red lips and teeth, cream-coloured kimono fringed with blackish brown braid, with light purple fabric wound around him, hollow body, height 10 cm, glued part to neck, slight chip to light purple fabric under the left knee, Meissen, unmarked circa 1715 (Ru)
Pagods are copies of Chinese precedents, such as the god of luck, Pu-tai-Ho-shang, who rose from a beggar monk of the Tang Period to a Zen Buddhist immortal.
