Alabaster glass with pink gold-ruby casing, crater-shaped sides with gold-heightened handles, fine and wide gold edges, engraved edges, white foliate border on pink ground, etched pink arch, meander and foliate friezes on white ground, front with Dionysus, standing, with thysrus staff in his left hand and in conversation with his wife Ariadne, reverse side with dancing maenad with fluttering shawl, right hand holding wine goblet, left hand holding thyrsus staff, sides with elaborate small and large palmettes and spirals, stand with sphere to base, height 25.5 cm, Cristalleries de Baccarat, France, 1867-1870 (Ru)

Cristalleries de Baccarat, Meurthe et Moselle, France was established in 1764 by the Bishop in Metz, Monsignore de Montmorency-Laval, under the protection of Louis XV., it still exists today.
