After graduating from the Glassmaking Secondary School in Železný Brod, Eva Vlčková studied under prof. Vladimír Kopecký at the VŠUP in Prague. The author works with the technique of fused sculpture. In her work, there is an apparent effort toward an abstraction of shape. The works are remarkable for their play of light that is due to the thickness of the glass used. The Blue Screen object is composed of two rectangles connected by a translucent rectangular middle. This middle is a sort of overlap connecting the space in front of and behind the work.
