Furthermore, pantaloons of this type, with scarlet side seam piping, also belonged to the service uniform of military doctors, general staff officers, army standard officers, artillery officers, aides-de-camp, officials and other ranks of the military-geographical institute, who had scarlet had as a distinction colour or as advancement to black velvet distinction. The pantaloons have two diagonally cut, non-buttonable hip pockets, one buttonable seat pocket on the left, and on the back a two-piece strap of the trouser material with a two-pin buckle for the adjustment of the waist size. Waistband and fly with black bone buttons. On the inside of the leg opening are two bone buttons sewn with elastic straps, which are to keep the pantaloons straight while wearing.
