Northwest Persia (Iran), c. 231 x 145 cm, end of the 19th century, absolute rarity manufactured in fine knotted pattern on silk warp and silk shirazi, the background of this unique item is subdivided into 3 x 6 fields with exceptional images of cats, the fields with cats are arranged in alternating patterns or diagonally within the group, the “group images” are additionally decorated with a cartouche, this panel featuring a head and apocryphal characters could not be deciphered, good pile condition, both ends cut short, on the back all sides are secured with a linen band.
