The inspiration for the shape of “Steel-in-Rotation” came from arches used by Jean Prouvé in architecture. The sculpture is based on repeatedly duplicated steel elements formed with FiDU technology. “Steel-in-Rotation” is the embodiment of the concept of motion of immobile objects. The multiplication of steel elements creates a structural pattern that seduces with simplicity and impresses with aesthetic repeatability. With its form, “Steel-in-Rotation” is reminiscent of the hyperbolic building of the Cathedral of Brasilia designed by Oscar Niemeyer. The “Steel-in-Rotation” coffee table was shown for the first time at the Polish-Brazil design dialogue exhibition in Brazil.

“Our main goal is to deliver uniqueness and customization in design and constructions. This is how we imagine the future world: light, durable, structures of customized applications produced on demand out of one-of-a-kind parts, yet efficiently. FiDU technology allows us to create innovative, customized, bionic shapes and produce them in small series, using very efficient production processes. As process designers, we do not only aspire to design fabulous forms, but we also strive do make them innovative. Our Steel-in-Rotation coffee table mirrors this mindset.”
