A figure of an emaciated luohan
China, Ming dynasty, 15th/early 16th century
Seated bent forwards, clothed in a doti, his right leg raised at the knee, his left leg resting on the ground, his hands folded across one another on his right knee, shown with sunken cheeks, flat nose, and a wrinkled forehead, and curly hair, beard and brows. The arms cast separately and affixed. Height: 12 cm (BA)
