Morocco: A portable Koran box, made of brass, with silver-alloy décor, the name ‘Allah’ inscribed on the reverse as well as on the carrying strap.
A portable container for a Koran. With a hinged semicircular lid in the upper section. Made of brass and engraved. Decorated with massive yet weak silver alloy on the front side and on the upper edges. The front side features an openwork field with floral décor and charming volutes.
The smooth reverse side is engraved with the framed name of ‘Allah’ in Arabic script. Both sides feature cast eyelets to which the the carrying strap of light-coloured plaited silk is attached with knots.
