Lega, Democratic Republic of Congo: A beautiful old ivory trumpet with face.
A side-blown trumpet made of visibly very old ivory. With an oval mouthpiece on the inside, a charming face in relief on the thickened external body, and a hole for a carrying cord underneath. The external surfaces of the instrument are decorated with typical tribal motifs of geometric dots of the Lega, a tribe living in eastern Congo.
A beautiful object with very old, red-brown patina. Excellent condition, no damage.
