Xaver Sedelmeier selects everyday objects made of familiar materials and coats them with exquisite Porsche lacquer. He builds seats using corrugated sheet iron, the very material of which millions of provisional dwellings in informal housing estates around the globe are made. Through this costly finish and the process of reutilisation, the material is endowed with new aesthetic qualities aimed at a shift in values: from utilitarianism to essentiality, from having to being.
