Banquet plate from the Viennese table silver of field marshal Archduke Friedrich (1856-1936),
silver, oval, wavy edge, edge with “Kreuzband” decoration, rim with engraved archducal coat of arms surrounded by the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece, ermine trimmed coat-of-arms coat, Archduke’s crown,44,5 x 31 cm, weight 1300 g, maker’s mark JCK = J. After he had inherited the table silver of Duke Albert von Sachsen-Teschen, Archduke Friedrich ordered additions to the table silver from the Viennese court supplier Klinkosch. Because of the large number of the Archduke’s children (1 son and 8 daughters), the table silver produced by Ignaz Würth was insufficient. The additional items were precise copies of the existing Würth silver.
