6 plates with perforated edges, porcelain, manufacture Meissen, gold decoration, lattice shaped perforated edge, cartouche with painted crowned Austrian coat of arms, dia. 24 cm, Sword mark in blue under glaze, ca. 1857, (Lu)
The white coat of arms service with gold edge was ordered by Archduchess Sophie on the occasion of her visit to the Meissen factory in Dresden in May 1857. It was used as a dinner service in the imperial villa in Bad Ischl and stored there in a sideboard made for the purpose and placed in a side room off the dining room. The service was used for all family celebrations and the numerous visits of various rulers to Bad Ischl.
