Southeast Caucasus, c. 57 x 54 cm, second half of the 19th century, soumak bag face with a white central octagon surrounded by ram’s horns, flanked by graceful four-legged figures, the rare border drawing, which is mostly used as a central motif, is referred to as ‘Stangenvögel’ and ‘bakme gul’ in specialised literature, wholly complete, beautiful old collector’s piece.
