France, Napoleon III period, last third of the 19th century. Decorated on all sides in Boulle technique in brass and tortoiseshell, also partly ebonised and decorated with bronze mounts. The stand is square in form and has a black glass top. The tortoiseshell is covered by the endangered species regulations. Height 114 cm, some ageing. (PZ)
