In what is known as the Metternich style, Vienna, ca. 1790/1800. A mahogany-veneered softwood desk with lightly moulded cornice and plinth, with ebony veneer contouring, a cornice drawer, fall front with gilt mounts, a fitted interior with 10 interior drawers and compartments, a lower section with 2 doors and a mahogany-veneered fitted interior, a plinth drawer and gilt mounts. Small wood losses, some ageing and traces of wear. (DOC)
