Baroque tabernacle bureau cabinet,
Originally Austria, circa 1740/50. A bureau a trois corps, veneered mostly in walnut with figural and ornamental marquetry in burl maple, plum, stained oak and engraved maple. The lower section has three drawers; the writing section has a fall-front writing surface and two lateral drawers, and the upper section has a central door, four interior drawers and ten external drawers with central niche. 184 x 128 x 70 cm. Parts removed, replaced and altered in the course of a restoration. Some ageing. (MIN)
