American Bar, Vienna, until 1985 – private ownership, Vienna
Adolf Loos’s famous American Bar (Kärntner Bar), built in Vienna in 1907/8, was slightly modified in 1927. In the course of these alterations, the open wall shelves behind the bar counter were replaced by two display cabinets. When the bar was renovated in 1989/90, the display cabinets were removed and the bar restored to its original condition.
