A suite of furniture comprising a table and two armchairs, the design attributed to Robert Oerley, Vienna
, c. 1905, solid maple and maple veneer, black stained feet, the chairs upholstered and covered with textile fabric, table: height 70 cm, 95 x 62.5 cm, an armchair height 75 cm, width 70 cm, depth 70 cm, height of seat 47 cm. (DRAX)
Provenance:
from a prominent private collection in Vienna, until 2014; purchased in the early 1960s by the Viennese gallery owner Kurt Kalb. According to Kurt Kalb, the furnishings originally came from a room in a palace in Vienna’s Metternichgasse that was decorated by leading artists of the Vienna Secession between 1905 and 1910, including, among others, Josef Hoffmann and Kolo Moser.
