A “Crypto 10” armchair, designed by Sido & François Thévenin,
1985, for Sawaya & Moroni, Italy, metal fusion of cast bronze, patinated in lighter and darker nuances, impressed signature: Sido et François Thévenin/pour Sawaya & Moroni, height 91 cm, length 58 cm, depth 55 cm, height of seat 32 cm. (DRAX)
This chair is part of a group of altogether four different “Crypto” models, including three seat objects and an armchair. The group was only produced in small numbers. Technically, these pieces of furniture are obtained through “lost wax bronze casting” from models individually made in wax, so that each piece is different. Brown Renaissance patination was applied by hand and then partly removed in order to reach a balance between darker and shiny zones.
