USSR, c. 178 x 193 cm, dated 1935, unique pictorial carpet in the style of Socialist Realism under Stalin’s rule, the ideological art movement was founded after the October revolution around 1920 and had themes of daily life, the technique of socialist achievements, optimism, confidence and attempted to unify Romanticism and Realism within it, here in horizontal format is a group of six children holding hands enjoying sport, games and dancing, the carpet is preserved in very good pile and is produced on cotton warp and weft material, some minor, old moth damage on the right lower corner is not troublesome and could be left or slightly repaired, trimmed overall with wool shirazi, in the left upper corner is a Russian monogram of an unidentified artist with "MC" and the date 1935.
