Agedyna cushion cover,
South Sweden, c. 47 x 46 cm (incl. frame c. 75 x 75 cm), early 19th century, half of a woven coach box cushion cover from the Skåne County manufactured using the Flamskäv technique, lions are rare but not unusual in Swedish textiles, after successful wars in 1630 the ruling Swedish King Gustav Adolf was also known as the victorious lion of the North, from then on lions were to be found in textiles and also on the state flag, in fragmented condition - one half is missing, mounted on linen with a wooden frame.
