A stone axe with dark green, cut stone blade (type: adze) with knee-shaft hafting. The relatively thin handle is dyed black and displays some tears. With thick, carefully executed wickerwork of brown-yellow rattan for attaching the stone blade to the split shaft. Good usage patina on the shaft (colour scuffed) as well as on the blade (flaking). First half of the 20th century; L: 47 cm (handle), W: 21 cm (upper section with blade). (ME)
