An elegant, relatively small trumpet made of ivory, type: transverse horn. With a slightly thickened mouthpiece and oval blow hole. On the upper end sits a ring-shaped, pierced, delicate finial. On the lower end a cuff made of animal skin, trimmed with remnants of a red-brown moult. An object with very old, black patina and red-brown glossy areas as a result of protracted use. Only minor pieces broken off on the lower edge, otherwise no damage. About or before 1900. L: c. 41 cm. (ME) ASA
