A black-dyed heddle pulley. With the head of a ‘Calao bird’ (hornbill), a ‘sacred animal’ of the Senufo people. The bird head has recessed eyes. An object with very good, old usage patina. Heddle available. A large, curved nail serves as the axis. First half of the 20th century; H: 13 cm. (ME)
