Italian Baroque bureau cabinet,
Venice, mid 18th century. A bureau a deux corps, with serpentine shaping on all sides and partly bombé, with cabriole legs, made in softwood with walnut and burl walnut veneer and decorated with marquetry panels. The three-drawer lower section has a fall-front writing surface and interior drawers. The upper section has a tall moulded central element, ebonised scrolls with central mirror, two doors with engraved mirror inlays, three interior drawers and compartments. Approx. 265 x 139 x 69 cm. With bronze handles. Small wood losses, some ageing and wear. (DOC)
