Princess Sophie Friederike Dorothea Wilhelmine of Bavaria, Munich 27.1.1805-28.5.1872 Vienna became the Archduchess of Austria on marriage and the mother of Emperor Franz Josef I of Austria. Sophie was the daughter of King Maximilian Joseph of Bavaria and his second wife, Karoline Friederike Wilhelmine of Baden. She was also a sister of Queen Elisabeth Ludovika of Prussia and the twin sister of Queen Maria of Saxony.
