Ghom silk,
Central Persia (Iran), c. 304 x 292 cm, modern, whilst older silk carpets from Ghom are mostly coarser and with deep pile, more recent specimens aim at refinement, square-shaped carpet with c. 1 mill. kts/sqm and filigree circular medallion in keeping with the format, perfect condition, signature on the outer lower front: "Baft Iran Qum Master Mayusi", perfect condition; n.b.: fine large-format silk carpets are not easily photographed since, as a result of their shifting pile, photos often create the misleading impression of shades and stains.
