The ‘criers’ include those in public service, vendors, tradesmen, performers, musicians, townspeople, as well as dandies and courtesans. These two figures were at one time considered to represent a Polish courtier and an unmatched cavalier. However, they also exist as drawings in the collected model drawings of Christoph Huet 1753.

Christophe Huet (Paris 31.10.1692–5.9.1765 Paris) apparently created drawings for this specific project, still preserved in the archive of the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory. In addition, the detailed pen and wash drawings are annotated in German and French, addressing questions of form and painted décor. These 31 figures were formed at the Meissen Manufactory in 1960, bearing the underglaze blue crossed swords, polychromed and gilt, 28 in perfect condition, 4 with restorations.
