manufactured by Thonet, France, 1930s, plain nickel plated tubular steel frame, hexagon head screws, French screw threads, the “eisengarn” (iron yarn) covering replaced a considerable time ago, height approx. 78 cm, width approx. 77 cm, depth approx. 74 cm.

Frank Müsers exhibited Bauhaus and tubular steel furniture as early as the 1980s and contributed to the book Deutsche Stahlrohrmöbel by Alexander von Vegesack, which appeared in 1993. Müsers supplied a schematic survey of tubular steel furniture production and according to Alexander von Vegesack is one of the leading experts on early tubular steel furniture.
