signed "Berthoud à Paris", Paris pendule movement, power reserve: 1-2 weeks, ½ hour count wheel striking mechanism on bell, wire suspension, cambered enamel dial with gold dots, chased and gilt clock-hands, glazed bead moulding bronze bezel, cream coloured marble clock case in the form of an obelisk, gilt bronze mounts, lambrequin supported by 2 lions, a relief in the Egyptian manner commemorating a military victory, bead mouldings, laurel base with relief, moving armillary sphere, 56 cm, France ca. 1780/1800, in well-maintained condition, slight traces of wear and tear, the precision of the movement and long-term function cannot be guaranteed, pendulum lost, (HP)
