Small lady’s writing desk,
Designed by Donald Ross (1830 - 1916), and, according to the stamp, produced by Edwards & Roberts in London, ca. 1860. A modified Louis XVI style in the manner of the French cabinet makers Sené or Garnier. A hardwood desk, decorated with lozenge pattern veneer in various fine woods such as mahogany, lemonwood and amaranth, set on tapering square cut legs, with rich bronze mounts, 2 frieze drawers and 2 porcelain plaques. 75 x 107 x 63 cm.
