with flowers in the left hand and cornucopia of flowers in the right hand, supported by Cupid, on the right a Cupid holding flowers, the reverse side signed F. Rentsch, the round tiered base with narrow and wide gilt edging, porcelain, polychromed and gilt, height: 51 cm, some blossoms and leaves restored, Meissen, underglaze blue crossed swords 2nd half 19th cent., model N 193, former no. 173, gilt painter no. 49, model by Ernst Julius Hähnel after a design by F. Rentsch, of very rare form (Ru)

Friedrich Rentsch, sculptor, (Dresden 2.1.1836–17.11.1899 Dresden), from 1873 lecturer for ornamental- and figure drawing at the technical university in Dresden, 1888 ord. Prof; sun of the portrait- and history painter, master draughtsman, and lecturer at the Dresden Academy, (Friedrich Rentsch 1792–1856), master class of E. Hähnel;
Ernst Julius Hähnel, sculptor, professor, Dr. h. c., (Dresden 9.3.1811–22.5.1891 Dresden), from 1880 freelance work at the Meissen Manufactory.
