Pavel Dimitrijevich Shipov was an adjutant of Tsar Nikolaus II. and a painter. He studied at the Academy in St. Petersburg and spent the most time of his life in military service. The present watercolour sketch shows the massacre among the knights of the Livonian Brothers of the Sword and the Russian warriors.
