Sign: “Wiener Blumencorso 1905”, Otto Wagner School
aluminium, painted white and red, decorated with gold floral motifs; on the front inscribed "Wiener Blumencorso 1905", on the reverse "I"; signs of age and wear; height 52.3 cm, diameter 43.2 cm. From 1886 onwards, the so-called “Blumencorso” took place on the Prater’s main avenue in May, on the occasion of the spring festival. This event was initiated by Princess Pauline Metternich. The sign on offer, from the year 1905 and featuring the number “I”, was probably the start sign of the parade.
