Baluch Zabol,
East Persia (Iran), c. 212 x 106 cm, about 1880, Baluch carpets were manufactured as export items for the Western market very late and no uniform pattern established itself until then, which is why many pieces are irreplaceable unique items; the present specimen features aubergine-colour ground, four vertical pattern series with a main border without colour transition, very prominent are the white pattern stripes with triangles; both finishes and sides original, otherwise low pile due to age, corroded brown.
