Shirvan Gallery,
East Caucasus, c. 277 x 112 cm, second half of the 19th century, carpets with stepped staggered rhombi and red gubpa motifs at the ends belong to the standard reservoir of patterns in the Shirvan region, and the present carpet is a very early example of this type; in unrestored condition with good colours, slight traces of usage and some minimal moth damage, the upper end shows slightly damaged areas and a larger repair, newly overcast all around.
