Brussels (Netherlands), c. 313 x 327 cm, end of the 16th century, unidentified biblical scene from the Old Testament depicting the stabbing of a ruler on the throne; almost square-shaped silk and wool weaving with Renaissance Brussels Border, consisting of herms and figures in leaf-covered architectural ruins (aediculae); the present tapestry is unrestored and partially damaged with open warp slits, the blue borders along the finishes are a later addition, mounted on linen with burlap loops for hanging.
