Northeast China, c. 170 x 92 cm, first half of the 19th century, warp threads and wefts made of cotton with silk decorative fringes, foundation with embedded metal threads; the image depicts a stork surrounded by gardens and imperial buildings, framed within a meander border, at top a signature with the statement: “for imperial use in the Hall of Eternal Harmony”, intended to be used by one of the emperor’s wives; good pile condition, both cotton woven finishes are still preserved.
