South Persia (Iran), c. 672 x 348 cm, about 1930, finely knotted palace carpet with an all-over pattern of palm and sickle leaves that is reminiscent of the museum-quality vase carpets from the 16th and 17th century; excellent colour condition and overall state of preservation with consistently deep pile wool, the fringes at both ends have been filled in, the upper blue guard stripes bear the signature: OCM (Oriental Carpet Manufacturers, London).
