China, c. 950 x 76 cm, 19th century, seven five-clawed dragons with flaming pearl in a sea of clouds, in continuous repeat on Kaisergelb ('emperor yellow') ground, woven in tapestry technique, superb condition without signs of wear to the pattern, all sides complete, the right end with an inscription reading: Jiang Nan Zhi Zao Chen Qi Shi (“South of the Yangtze River, Minister of Textile Production, aged 74”).
