Adensamová Blanka (1948)
Hope
uranium glass fused in a mould, cut and polished, signed Blanka Adensamová, made in 2012, marble stand, height 41 cm (Zí)
The work is from the author’s studio.
Exhibited: Blanka Adensamová, Gallery of the Academy of Sciences, Prague, 2012
After studying at the Glassmaking Secondary School in Železný Brod, she studied in prof. Libenský’s studio at the AAAD in Prague, graduating in 1976. At the beginning of her career as an artist, she focused on blown objects. Her favorite motif was the human head. She later began to create fused sculptures. She is often inspired by nature, but also often uses the motif of flying angels. For the author, the angel is the symbol of the connection between life on Earth and eternal, ethereal life.
The sculpture on offer, Hope, is a smaller version of the larger Hope, which received a prize in Kanazawa Japan in 2007.
