Central Anatolia (Turkey), c. 512 x 367 cm, , second half of the 20th century, high-quality oversized silk carpets from Kayseri are extremely rare, the present luxurious item with c. 1/2 mill. kts/sqm features a refined pattern that reveals itself clearly at closer inspection: the central medallion with appendage is discreetly embedded in the pattern repeat and is surrounded by intricate spiral tendrils terminating in blossoms or hands that hold birds of paradise, no visible signs of wear or damaged areas, full silk pile and original ends and side edges.
